Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Our Approach

Aus.wiki is an Australian knowledge wiki — a free, public reference site covering immigration, education, property, tax, health, and daily life in Australia. We are committed to being transparent about data practices.

We do not track you across the web, sell your data, or build advertising profiles.

What We Collect

Essential Information

When you visit Aus.wiki, our infrastructure (hosted on Cloudflare) processes the following technical data to deliver pages and maintain security:

  1. IP address: Temporarily processed to route traffic and protect against abuse; not stored in logs that identify individual visitors
  2. Basic request data: Page URL, browser type, device type, and referring page — used in aggregate to understand traffic patterns
  3. Security-related data: Rate limiting and DDoS protection information

None of these constitute “personal data” in the sense of identifying you by name, email, or physical location.

Cookies

Aus.wiki does not set any cookies — no tracking cookies, no session cookies, no preference cookies. Zero.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first by design:

We see aggregate numbers: how many people visited, which pages are popular, which countries visitors come from. We cannot identify individual users or track their behaviour across visits.

Contact

If you email us at hello@aus.wiki:

Aus.wiki links extensively to Australian government websites, universities, official data sources, and other reference materials. These external sites have their own privacy policies and data practices. We are not responsible for their policies — when you leave Aus.wiki, the destination site’s policy applies.

Children’s Privacy

Aus.wiki is a general-audience reference site. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at hello@aus.wiki and we will delete it.

Data Security

We use industry-standard measures (TLS encryption, Cloudflare security features) to protect information in transit. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. We recommend not sending sensitive personal information via email.

Your Rights

Under Australian privacy law (Privacy Act 1988) and wherever applicable:

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates when changes were last made. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
